Family Connection Committee

“Fostering relationships and communication among families while supporting religious education”

The Family Connection is a group of parents, grandparents and other adults who support the religious school and youth programs at Congregation Ner Tamid in a variety of ways.  The Family Connection is not a formal committee in which people are appointed, but instead is open to all interested CNT adults with an interest in providing Jewish Education to our younger generation.  Typically meetings are on the first Sunday of each month at 9:30 a.m.  The Family Connection serves as the official  Religious School Board Committee and Youth Committee for the congregation.

Family Connection Meetings: Sunday, September 9 - Sunday, Ocotber 7 - Sunday, November 4 - Sunday, December 2 -Sunday, January 13 - Sunday, February 10 - Sunday, March 10 - Sunday, April 4 & Sunday, May 5 

The Family Connection's roles include:

  • Creating opportunities for the parents, grandparents and guardians of our students to get to know each other.
  • Providing room parents to assist the religious school teachers behind the scenes with parental communication.
  • Fundraising throughout the year in support of the religious school and youth programs.
  • Conducting the annual CNT Purim Carnival and assisting the Membership Committee in conducting the annual CNT Picnic.
  • Serving as a conduit for communication between parents and the school's professional leadership.
  • Assisting the the rabbis in formulating principles, policies and regulations necessary for the functioning of the school, and providing suggestions for the school's improvement
  • Creating opportunities for Jewish learning not only for the religious school students, but their families as well.
