High Holy Days Services

2012 / 5772-5773

Yamim Noraim literally means the "Days of Awe". This refers to the High Holy Days, specifically Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur, and is marked by a ten-day period of time during which we engage in prayer, introspection, repentance and fasting.

During the High Holy Days we offer Services geared toward different segments of the community.

  • Traditional Services are liturgically comprehensive. The sermon topics are relevant to adults and older children, and the music includes sophisticated choral setting as well as participatory melodies.
  • Family Services are less formal and of shorter duration. The prayers are designed to be meaningful for children 12 and under, with an emphasis on family participation and features our Youth High Holy Day Choir.
  • Youth and Teen Services are designed for school-aged children. Children grades K - 6 will meet in the Beit Tefiilah at 10:00am to enjoy a meaningful High Holy Day experience. Teens grades 7 - 12 will join their parents in the main service until 11:00am then they will go to the Beit Tefillah to enjoy their own service with a guitar-led music and group discussions.
  • Preschool Services are for children ages 2 through Pre-K. Parents and children will share in the services that include music and fun, sharing together in the High Holy Days experience
