Temple News

Statement To The

Congregation Ner Tamid Community

Due to coronavirus (COVID-19) precautions, effective Wednesday, March 18, 2020 Congregation Ner Tamid will be closed to the public.

Our Temple staff will  be working remotely, if you need anything you can call the Temple office number 702-733-6292 and speak directly to our staff.

CNT Goes Online

We are living in a time requiring everyone to be keeping in touch with "extended family." We're reaching out to YOU asking for your assistance in a timely mitzvah.

Knowing that you, as a trained Friendly Visitor, have a special talent of reaching out and making others feel comfortable, we are inviting you to also be a CNT CONNECTOR.

If/when you agree to be involved with this exceptional group, Roberta will forward names, along with phone numbers, of a few congregants that you agree be in touch with on a weekly basis, for the duration of the pandemic.

Just think how good folks will feel knowing someone outside their home cares about them.  They may need a ride to a doctor's appointment or just a ride to the grocery store.

Don’t worry about what to say— a suggested script will be written for you. You may hear information from those you talk with, if they are in need, that you will want to share with Roberta. Please let her know and she will determine who is the best person to follow up with the congregant.

When you think about this—it’s truly a MITZVAH to be involved this way.

Together we make CNT a special place to belong, for EVERYONE.

If you wish to participate in this project, please let Roberta know ASAP

Virtual Service for CNT Family & Friends

At this unprecedented time, when we are being asked to distance ourselves from one another socially, our tradition teaches us to find new and creative ways to keep our community intact.

In partnership with Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills, Temple Isaiah, Temple Israel of Hollywood, and University Synagogue of Los Angeles, we are proud to announce the creation of a new and exciting virtual web community designed to share all of our collective online resources and activities with Las Vegas/Henderson and the greater LA Jewish community and provide you and your family with a virtual Jewish community until the prohibition is lifted. There will be programming for all ages, from toddler to older adults, with lots of opportunities to interact with our clergy as well as that of the other three synagogues.

It’s easy to participate. All events will take place on any one of the following video/meeting platforms:

Facebook Live (must have Facebook account)

Google Hangout

Please note that this website is constantly updating to please check it often.

Family Activities: Resources for art projects, cooking, music and video to watch, book reading, song sessions, storytelling (Shlomo Stories), Jewish learning together, and more.

Spiritual Nourishment: Daily meditation, Yoga, music and song, Torah and Talmud study, and more.

Educational Opportunities: Weekly Torah study, Hebrew learning, adult education classes, book clubs, and more.

Resources: Preschool, K-7, Teens, Adults, Families, Recommendations of books, shows, podcasts to binge. Resources for Jewish educational experiences and activities for one or more.

Your clergy in Henderson and across LA are committed to providing our Jewish community with opportunities to meet and gather, even if they are virtual. Join us!

You can catch your clergy Saturday night at 7PM for Havdallah,

Sunday at 4:30PM for a sing-a-long with our Shir Heart Singers,

Mondays and Wednesdays, Laila Tov stories with Cantor and Emmett,

and more to come!
