NEVADANS FOR THE COMMON GOOD
Congregation Ner Tamid is affiliated with Nevadans for the Common Good (NCG). NCG is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that works for the betterment of our community. Over the past two years, NCG member teams interviewed over 2,000 people to determine issues most pressing to our community. Those issues have been brought forward and will be addressed during this legislative session. They include $500 million in new funding for public education, a $40 million affordable housing tax credit program, and the development of a Paid Lending Enforcement System.
Throughout the month of February, NCG implemented a postcard project. Constituents wrote a message to their legislators in support of the three initiatives mentioned above. It is anticipated that Nevada legislators will receive 4,000 postcards from NCG! Thank you, CNT members, for participating in this important project. Special thanks to Shirley Kouffman for donating the stamps for our postcards.
CNT NCG meetings are held on the third Thursday of every month at 5:15pm in the Board Room. Join us and make a difference. For further information contact Dorie Kirtman at email@example.com or Susie Sernoe at firstname.lastname@example.org.
NCG acts to strengthen family and community in solidarity with others, across lines of race, class and religion.
