A Brief HistoryOver the years, paralleling the dramatic growth in the Las Vegas valley, the temple experienced a period of rapid growth. From a small congregation of 80 families in 1988, CNT now comprises a membership of over 650 families making it the largest Reform synagogue in Nevada. Despite the temple's size, the congregation has always maintained a warm sense of intimacy and member involvement. CNT has committed itself to being a spiritually uplifting community that seeks always to be involved with service to others. In addition to it's own programs and activities, CNT continually works with other local churches and organizations to do everything from helping homeless families get back on their feet to helping inform the community via political forums as well as speakers from Israel and around the U.S. who speak on national and international topics. In 2001, they embarked on a major capital campaign and began creating a new campus and learning center to meet their growing needs. On October 9, 2005, CNT broke ground on their new campus offering the Jewish community a unique vision of Judaism by creating The Greenspun Campus for Jewish Life, Learning and Spiritual Renewal. On February 25, 2007, Congregation Ner Tamid dedicated its new home as 1,000 people attended the Service of Dedication. The morning began with a Torah Walk moving the torahs from their temporary home at King David Memorial Chapel to their new location at 55 N. Valle Verde Drive in Henderson, NV. The future is bright - come be part of the CNT family! Upcoming Events Thursday, September 2, 2010 For more information on each |
