And, after Services, Rabbi Akselrad will hold a discussion in the Gary and Lynn Kantor Hall about his sermon entitled “Again?” He will reflect upon our despair and needed reforms stemming from the recent events surrounding five black police officers who severely beat Tyre Nichols, a black 29-year-old Fed-Ex employee and amateur photographer, at a traffic stop in Memphis, Tennessee. Nichols was hospitalized in critical condition and died three days later.
This tragic story has been the subject of a national conversation about the nature of our society and Rabbi Akselrad will share some of his insights and understanding and give Congregants a chance to share their thoughts and points of view.
