CNT Member Colleen Freedman will address the Congregation to share her “Jewish journey” and why she converted from Catholicism.
Colleen Freedman is a former choreographer who danced with the likes of Backstreet Boys, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Paula Abdul and worked on multiple TV shows and movies including “Dancing with the Stars,” “Glee,” “La La Land,” “The Greatest Showman,” and “True Blood.” This fall, she’ll earn her Juris Doctor and Masters of Business Administration degree at UNLV.
“It is a deeply personal journey and one that I typically would not address publicly,” Freedman said, “but I find it important to share our stories as they may inspire others. Our stories are what makes life interesting!”
Freedman grew up Catholic in the Midwest but discovered there was a family faction with Jewish roots. She credits her husband Pauly Freedman as the catalyst that brought her to Judaism and CNT for cultivating and fostering her relationship with the religion.
“When I moved to Las Vegas eight years ago, I knew very few people,” Freedman said. “CNT was the first community in Las Vegas where I felt I belonged and it gave me a sense of identity and belonging. It continues to be a place that is a reliable and consistent community in my life.”
