The first day of Religious School is August 18th, 2024 at 9 am. We will be having our annual Open House and Meet the Teacher the prior week on August 11th, 2024 at 12 pm.

What is the daily Sunday schedule?
Sunday classes for Preschool through 8th grade take place from 9 am to 12 pm. Throughout the day, students will have specials, including Music, Art, and Gaga, that alternate each week. Students will also end the day with Tefilah (prayer) each week. Teens in our Tribe program will have class on Sundays from 11 am to 12 pm.

What is the daily Tuesday schedule?
Tuesday Hebrew School students have the option to come on Tuesdays from either 4:00 – 5:30 pm or 5:00 – 6:30 pm. Our Tuesday Kesher students will have class from 5:00 – 6:30 pm.

What day does my child come to Religious School?
Students in Preschool – 3rd grade and 9th – 12th grade will attend Religious School on Sundays only. Students in 4th – 8th grade will attend Religious School on Sundays and Hebrew School or Kesher on Tuesdays.

Who should I talk to if my child has an allergy?
If your child has an allergy, please let us know on the registration form. If a new allergy comes up during the year, please let our Education Director (Hayley Wizig) and your child’s teacher know.

Who should I talk to if my child has a learning challenge?
If your child has any learning challenges (ADHD, Dyslexia, etc.), please let us know on the registration form. If your child is diagnosed with a learning challenge during the year, please let our Education Director (Hayley Wizig) and your child’s teacher know.

How do I communicate with the school and/or my child’s teacher?
CNT Religious School uses ClassDojo to communicate with families. If there is something that you need your child’s teacher or our administration to know, you can message them on the ClassDojo app or website. Teachers and administrators can also message families individually or send information to the whole class.

Why should I connect to ClassDojo?
Along with family communication, ClassDojo is also the platform that we use to post whole school updates. When you download the app and connect to your child’s class, you will be able to receive notifications for upcoming events, school posts, as well as when you get a message from your child’s teacher. CLICK HERE to connect to ClassDojo!

Are there any youth group opportunities available to my child?
Yes! Each grade level will have different opportunities throughout the year to socialize with their CNT friends. Check out the Youth Group page in the side bar to see all that we have to offer!

How can I volunteer to help at Religious School?
Our amazing Family Connect Committee coordinates our volunteers for whole school programming. Any parent/guardian of our Religious School students are welcome to join the committee, which meets monthly. You can also volunteer to help with school events like our Tu B’shvat Seder or Mitzvah Day. Check out the Volunteer page in the side bar for a full list of ways to get involved!

Am I able to join my child in class and see what they are learning?
Each grade level will have their own Family Learning Day during the year. On this day, families are invited to join their child in class for a special day of learning. You will spend the day focusing on an overarching theme that is connected to the curriculum of the grade level. Rabbi Akselrad and/or Cantor Hutchings will join the class and teach part of the lesson, and each family will get to work on a craft that you can bring home.

Is there any family oriented programming during the year?
There will be many opportunities throughout the year for families to participate in programming. Each grade level will lead a Friday night service that is preceded by a family dinner for that grade. We also have many Shabbat services during the year that are geared towards families, such as Back to Shul Shabbat and Beatles Shabbat. Other school events for the whole family include Mitzvah Day, Holiday Celebrations, and more. You can find the full list of programs on the Family Programming page!

I’m sure I forgot something, is there anything else I should know?
Check out the CNT Religious School Google Drive to see our Family Handbook, Policies and Procedures, Code of Conduct, and more. The Drive can be access by clicking here.
